Dipl.-Ing. H. Horstmann GmbH now offers data in the EPLAN Data Portal

Horstmann now offers data from short-circuit indicators and earth fault indicators, fault direction indicators – with and without monitoring – and voltage-detecting systems in the EPLAN Data Portal.

Dipl.-Ing. H. Horstmann GmbH is a medium-sized company headquartered in Heiligenhaus near Düsseldorf. Since its foundation in 1946 by Heinrich Horstmann, the company has successfully lived on as a family-owned business. Today, Dipl.-Ing. H. Horstmann GmbH is one of the leading manufacturers of short-circuit indicators, earth fault indicators, remote monitoring solutions, voltage detectors and voltage-detecting systems, as well as earthing devices and accessories, thanks to its many years of experience and innovation and willingness to invest. The products that meet the highest quality standards are developed and manufactured on state-of-the-art equipment in the company’s own production facilities in Germany. To meet these demands, the company has a very high degree of vertical integration (e.g. its own in-house SMD assembly) and its own R&D department equipped with the latest testing and measuring equipment. Safety equipment products are made in the mechanical manufacturing division. Product data, 2-D and 3-D drawings of the Sigma 2.0 series short-circuit indicators and earth fault indicators, the Sigma D series fault direction indicators and the ComPass B series fault direction indicators with monitoring are now available in the EPLAN Data Portal. All indicators offer the ability to use remote signalling via relay contacts, not only making it possible to identify the fault location even faster but also making it possible to quickly give specific instructions to operating personnel. In addition to the signal contacts, the ComPass B series is also equipped with an RS485 interface which can be used to transmit all network data recorded in the MODBUS protocol to the control system. This network data is becoming increasingly important for managing and planning the network in light of increasing network requirements growing out of the Energy Saving Act (EEG) and energy storage. The portfolio also includes data from the integrated voltage detecting systems Wega 1.2 C, Wega 1.2 C vario and Wega 2.2 C, whose voltage signal is required for the fault direction. The provided macros are available worldwide and can easily be integrated into the circuit diagrams via drag & drop. Part lists with Horstmann order numbers can be generated after final completion. The design time is thus shortened considerably whilst at the same time the probability of errors is also decreased.
